Screening of The Good Kids at Lakewood Ranch Cinemas!

The Good Kids will screen at Lakewood Ranch Cinemas on December, 3rd. Our exciting red carpet event will begin at 9:00AM, and the screening will immediately follow.

Save the date for this special viewing. Our young cast and crew have created an incredible short film! In addition to being extremely entertaining, The Good Kids offers a unique perspective on the problem of bullying. This film provides insight that will be valuable to students, teachers, parents, and anyone else concerned about this serious issue. We are so proud of all of our 'Film Kids', and can't wait for them to see their work on the big screen.

See you on the red carpet!

Filming Starts Next Week!

Hope you are all doing well. The first week of Film Kids was FANTASTIC! We have a very talented group of students, and they are all doing a great job preparing for filming next week.
We emailed all parents a film release form that will require a parent signature. We will have these at the front desk for parents to sign on Monday. Parents can either come in and sign this form in person or choose to printout the attached form and send the signed form in with their child on Monday. Even if your child does not have an acting part, they should still return a signed form (in case they change their mind and choose to do something in a scene). Please let me know if you have any questions about the form.

The students have been working hard to develop their characters and we discussed wardrobe today. Students are free to decide how their character would like to dress in the film. However, they understand that it should be something appropriate for school and should not display any really visible logos (we can't put those on film without having the rights). We also asked them not to go over-the -top or pick anything too distracting.

Students will need to wear the same outfit all week (because the story takes place in one day). The characters Justin, Lissa, and Kaitlin will need two outfits. Most of the students said they would like to bring their 'costume' and leave it in a bag at camp. That way they can wear something else and change into the costume daily. By doing this, students will not have to worry about forgetting something or spilling something on their costume. If you are not comfortable with this, it will be very important to work with your child to make sure their outfit is exactly the same (socks, shoes, jewelry, etc.) all four days. Please call or email me if you have any questions.

As I said, we are thrilled with the effort and energy all of the kids are putting into this project. The first week was so much fun, and we can't wait for Monday.
